Dead Pixel vs Stuck Pixel
Dead pixels and stuck pixels look similar at first glance, but they are not the same problem. A quick solid-color test helps you separate hardware failure from pixels that may be stuck on one color channel.
Dead pixels stay dark
A dead pixel usually stays black because it is no longer lighting properly. It tends to remain visible on white and bright colors, and browser tools cannot repair physical panel damage.
Stuck pixels stay bright or colored
A stuck pixel may stay red, green, blue, white, or another color. It is most obvious when you switch through red, green, blue, black, and white fields.
When Pixel Wake makes sense
Pixel Wake is only worth trying for a stuck pixel, not for a dead pixel. Use it briefly, stop if the flashing feels uncomfortable, and treat it as an attempt rather than a guaranteed repair.
